Sunday School

Sunday School

He (Jesus) said, ‘Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me’ Mark 9 v 37

We would love all boys and girls aged between 3 and 16 to join with us in Sunday School. We assure everyone of a really warm welcome.   It is our desire that all our children and teenagers would come to know and trust Jesus as their friend and Saviour and grow in their relationship with Him.

Sunday School meets each Sunday morning before the Church service, starting promptly at 10.15 am and finishing at 11.10 am.

Our class groups are organised as follows:

Little Lambs ~ for nursery children

Gems ~ for   P1 & P 2

Scramblers ~ for P3 & P4

Climbers ~ for P5 & P6

Pathfinders  ~ for  P7, Years 8  & 9

Lighthouse ~ our Bible Class group for Years 10, 11 &12

Each class group has a small team of teachers, who provide an exciting and age appropriate programme, using mainly ‘Go Teach’ resources.  As well as the Bible lesson and praise time, there are lots of other interesting  activities  to  engage our young people and reinforce the main teaching points. These may include quizzes, word searches and puzzles, drama, art/ craft and discussions.

During the course of the year children will have the opportunity to learn both Bible memory verses and Catechism. This term we are teaching memory verses on the theme ‘Salvation.’

We also encourage everyone to take an active interest in missionary and outreach work, both on a local and worldwide level. It would really be appreciated if all our young people could bring a small offering each week to help support our missionaries.  Sometimes we have special missionary focus sessions when we have guest speakers.

Lighthouse meets upstairs in the Slemish Suite. Here our teenagers have the opportunity to study God’s Word and explore its relevance for their everyday lives, in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.

Tea and coffee will be available at the coffee bar for those parents who wish to wait and relax in the foyer area while their children are at Sunday School.  Please note that younger children (Nursery – P4)   will be supervised in their respective rooms until parents collect them at the end of Sunday School.
